The information centre

The information is the beginning of every visit and the restaurant with beer garden also offers an adequate environment for a relaxed conclusion.

Besides shower rooms and toilets, this building in the shape of a traditional three-sided farm from our region, the Oberpfalz (Upper Palatinate), hosts a small exhibition that constitutes the correct historical frame for our outdoor area. In addition to history, this gallery will include wall charts, models and hands-on elements presenting the crafts and techniques used for building our mediaeval houses. Tools will be displayed, animal and plant species will be explained and mediaeval everyday life will be introduced.

The information centre is the starting point for our children’s and young people’s workshops. Additionally, the visitor receives information and materials and after a short instruction, he starts into the outdoor area to experience mediaeval times first-hand.
