The Geschichtspark Bärnau-Tachov is a unique institution in Bavaria. We have built and are still building more reconstructions of an early mediaeval Slavic settlement, a motte-and-bailey castle and a village from the High Middle Ages. As everything is done on the base of archaelogical records, the visitors can really travel back in time right into the 8th to 12th century.

The Geschichtspark Bärnau-Tachov was officially opened in August 2011 with the first set of houses being completed. Though, new houses are still being built till 2013 - so there is always something new to see.
